I would like to thank you all for your support over the past three years as I have had the honor and privilege of serving as your National President. It hardly seems possible that we are in an election season once again. I was honored to learn last week, that in my campaign for re-election I will be running unopposed and will serve another term as your National President after the votes are counted.

I want you to know that I appreciate the faith and trust you have bestowed upon me, and I will not take my foot off of the gas in the next term. With that in mind, it is important that you know what a crucial role Carlos Aguirre plays in our success, and how important it is that we all re-elect him as the National Secretary Treasurer for PASS.

Carlos is not only a sharp chief financial officer for PASS, but he is also a trusted advisor. I consult with Carlos on a variety of matters, and I trust him to take the lead on important issues. In accordance with our constitution, "the National President shall be responsible for the negotiation, the execution and the administration of all collective bargaining agreements and other contracts." During my consultations with and directions to the legal team as they guide the ATO contract team members through negotiations, I have consistently made sure that Carlos is engaged in these discussions. I value his opinion, experience, work ethic and savvy. Carlos often advises me in a manner that allows me to consider other alternatives. His counsel is unvarnished, and he has no problem telling me how he sees it.

He has a deep insight into the issues of Region I from his years of experience as a Region I Assistant. This gives him deep insight into labor relations and the collective bargaining agreement.

Carlos and I have met with high level agency officials and Members of Congress to make our case about why ATO negotiations need to make progress. Carlos has been a stalwart for our membership and is a champion for our membership in Region I for many years. Carlos is my right hand on the National Executive Board, and it has been my honor to serve our union with him. He was right there with me this week as I testified to the Transportation and Infrastructure Aviation Subcommittee about staffing issues in ATO.

Please join me in voting for Carlos Aguirre again for PASS National Secretary Treasurer as we continue on our path and momentum to build PASS into a great union.

With election upon us I would like to talk about a gentleman that had been pivotal to PASS, Mr. Carlos Aguirre. During Carlos' time holding the PASS National Secretary Treasurer PASS has added 2 additional attorneys to our PASS arsenal which gave us the ability to negotiate 2 contracts simultaneously. 

In my time as the IL3 PASS president I have had the honor to work closely with Carlos. He has helped me immensely on taking this new roll to me. Carlos has a bright financial mind and is always willing to impart that knowledge.

As a rep, Carlos has always been there to support me. When any major event has happened with in my area, Carlos is always one of the first reached out to me and provided support. 

Carlos and Dave make a great team as PASS leadership. Together they have pushed PASS into the forefront of aviation safety.  Carlos has been instrumental in bringing attention to PASS and the employees they represent to the leaders and decision makers of our agency and our country. 

I know with Carlos as one of our leaders in PASS that we are in good hands. He has achieved many great things in his time and I know if he is given a chance he will continue to do great thinks.

My name is T. Sudama.  Currently, I serve as the MD1 Chapter President and member of the CBA Negotiation Team.  I would like to express my support for Carlos Aguirre to continue on as our National Secretary Treasurer.  I have known Carlos since 2008.  In that time, Carlos has been a guiding hand and someone who has provided honest counsel to me when I became a Unit Representative. Shortly after becoming the Chapter President, I looked to Carlos to help me set up my first chapter meeting, and help with my chapter funds management whenever needed which he did despite being states away serving as a Region I assistant.  As we all know, handing of money can be daunting task.   In addition, Carlos was instrumental in helping me to facilitate my first picketing event at Baltimore in lieu of a looming government shutdown.  No matter what the issue, or in what capacity I required support for my Chapter, Carlos has never told me "I can't". In his role as the Secretary Treasurer for the last 6 years, Carlos has never stopped providing guidance, or council to me.  He is always finding ways to encourage others to take an active role in PASS and has a gift for finding the strengths of our members to ensure PASS is represented and has a voice.  In my opinion, Carlos's temperament and disposition are invaluable when representing PASS.  I believe these are essential attributes when speaking on behalf of our members in the halls of Congress, and other forums where we need to make our position heard.

It’s time to decide on what box to check on your ballot. I am endorsing a great union brother, Carlos Aguirre. I am currently a regional assistant for Region II. In this job, I can say I’m an outsider looking in. I have been in this position for the past seven years, have been involved with our executive board, and have learned much about the hard work required of our PASS leadership.

Being in this position has allowed me to see and understand the internal workings of PASS. I’ve been active in union roles for 24 years with the FAA. I have held multiple representative roles, Participated as an Article 13 Rep, Chapter President, Regional Assistant, and others. I tell you this to express a viewpoint that few have seen.

I’ve experienced some great PASS leaders who were loyal and dedicated to PASS, some who had a personal agenda, and some who weren’t a good fit for our union. I have seen half-truths, false accusations, and misleading contract/constitution interpretations during this campaign.

Our current National Secretary Treasurer, Carlos Aguirre, is one of the most trustworthy and loyal leaders this union has ever had. He knows the job of Secretary Treasurer. He has held this position for the previous two terms. He’s cleaned house from his predecessor, and his house is spotless. The annual financial audits conducted by the Department of Labor are flawless. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

Carlos started a career with the FAA and received countless awards and recognition for his work. His work ethic continues as the National Secretary Treasurer for PASS. We should be applauding all that he has done for this union. Not only maintaining an impeccable financial position but working outside the box, gaining respect from FAA/DOT leadership, congressional members, and others in the aviation industry.
