PASS Brothers and Sisters,

For the past three years it has been my privilege serve as your PASS National President. As this PASS election season approaches, I am again asking for your vote and the opportunity to continue serving you and our union.

I have been a PASS Member for over 30 years. Prior to my service as your National President, I was a local PASS Rep, National Legislative Committee Member, Chapter Officer, Union Liaison and Regional Vice President. The background, experience and labor education I garnered during that time has put me in unique position to bolster PASS and continue on the path to building this into the great union we all know it is destined for. I am solely dedicated to growth and power this union can establish, and through that power we will secure your livelihoods and working conditions for years to come.

Prior to my employment with the FAA, I served four years in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Radar Technician at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Florida. Like many of my USAF colleagues, I spent many months at Keesler Air Force Base learning my trade. During my time as a technician with FAA, I maintained and certified primary and secondary radar systems, automation equipment, communications and airfield navigational aids. I attended dozens of classes at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center. I proudly served as the Region II Vice President for PASS for six terms (eighteen years), battling with FAA over grievances and negotiations every step of the way. I believe those battle scars prepared me well to serve as your president.

I graduated from the National Labor College in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Union Leadership and Administration; a coveted degree in the labor movement since the college shuddered its doors in 2014 in lieu of the fully online classes that AFL-CIO now provides through other institutions. That training and education has also been a huge asset for PASS as we apply strategies and initiatives that further our goals and objectives.

If re-elected as your PASS National President, I will continue to work diligently for all of you! Please take a few moments to review our website www.teampass2024.com and contact me if you have questions or would like to discuss my on-going plans for our union.

In solidarity,

DS

Dave Spero
